Sustainability, Self-Love and Self-Care

Sustainability, self-love and self-care became buzz words as we focus on the wellbeing of our Planet, self-observation and progression. Today we can’t surprise anyone by mentioning another cool yoga class or a meditation group. Years ago, after the Perestroika, yoga studios began to emerge in Moscow - that was a symbol of Western open society combined with the ancient knowledge from the East. I was lucky to join one of the first hatha yoga groups (we practiced in a school gym) and stayed on this path after moving to Boston and exploring Vipassana meditation technique that originated in Sri Lanka.

Meditation and yoga routine became instrumental in rerouting my professional life from business consulting and art promotion to creating art and lifestyle designs. I began to paint in order to recover from a medical condition (and that helped) as playing with abstract brush strokes on canvas felt like a pure meditation in no-time zone. Later I learned that a paper published in the American Journal of Public Health by Dr. Nobel and Dr. Stuckey about “The Connection Between the Art, Healing and Public Health” -- explores the evidence of how art-based interventions are effective in reducing adverse physiological and psychological outcomes.

The essence of my art and its motto can be summarized in three simple words - Art That Heals™.

Fast-forward, a juried submission of these oil paintings, derivative pattern designs on fabrics and matching wallpapers landed me an exhibit at the Architectural Digest Design Show in New York City in 2014-2017. Often art connoisseurs praised these designs for the European vibe and compared paintings to major works by Edvard Munch, Joan Mitchell, Willem de Kooning and Edouard Manet. In 2016 designed with authentic art, my first wearable art collection Ballerina debuted at the Boston Fashion Week (that was before the athleisure style was defined and people prefer a black color activewear). Creating streetwear and activewear became a logical extension of my art business. I experienced a healing power of colors myself and wanted to share this experience with others. According to ancient methodology, we are what we eat, see, hear and carry. Wearing pure colors of the Universe helps us to recharge our chakras, feel more energetic and holistic. Responsibly made in North America with eco-friendly materials, IG MODA’s outfits are the perfect high-performance yet comfortable activewear for the climate conscious fashionista. To keep our designs limited edition, we keep our inventory low and pieces are made to order. Take these limited-edition designs from the runway to your way.
